- 3 c. self-rising flour
- 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 2 teaspoon confectioners sugar
- 1/2 c. solid vegetable shortening
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- 1/4 c. melted butter
Directions

1Stir the flour, baking pwdr, and sugar together.

2Cut in the shortening till pcs are about the size of grains of rice; stir in buttermilk.

3Knead a few times; roll out onto a floured board to 3/4-inch thickness.

4(Be careful not to work dough too much or possibly add in too much flour or possibly you'll have dry biscuits.)

5Brush the tops of biscuits with the melted butter.

6Place on an ungreased cookie sheet.

7Bake 12 min in a preheated 450 degree oven.

8Makes 12 biscuits.
