Ingredients

  • 2 lb. pinto beans
  • salt pork
  • 1 bundle cilantro, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 or 3 Serrano or jalapeno peppers, sliced (optional)
  • 1 beer
  • 1 lb. bacon

Directions

    Cook beans with salt pork until tender (3 to 4 hours approximately).

    Fry bacon, onion and tomato.

    Add to cooked beans.

    Add hot peppers, cilantro and beer.

    Boil 15 to 20 minutes.
