Ingredients

  • 2 large onions, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1/4 c. oil
  • 2 c. shredded raw beets
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1/4 fresh dill weed, minced
  • 2 c. shredded cabbage
  • 6 c. water
  • 2 tsp. chicken seasoning salt
  • 1 c. tomato sauce
  • 1/2 c. sour cream
  • salt to taste

Directions

    Saute onions and celery in oil until tender.

    Add beets, cabbage, water and seasonings.

    Simmer until vegies are tender, about 20 minutes.

    Add tomato sauce and corn syrup.

    Simmer 5 more minutes.

    Salt to taste.

    Add sour cream just before serving. Sprinkle with dill.
