  • 1 pkg. (6 oz.) semi sweet chocolate pieces
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. light corn syrup
  • 1 c. finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/3 c. bourbon
  • 1 pkg. (7 1/4 oz.) vanilla wafers (42 wafers) finely crushed
  • Extra sugar for rolling cookies

Directions

    Melt chocolate over hot water.

    Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 cup sugar and the corn syrup.

    Blend in bourbon.

    Combine crumbs and nuts,

    add chocolate mixture and blend well.

    Shape quickly into 1-inch balls and roll in sugar.

    Store in airtight container and let stand several days to ripen before serving. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
