Braised Spareribs

  • 3 lb. spareribs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 c. water

Directions

    Wipe spareribs with a damp cloth; cut into serving portions. Dip in flour seasoned with salt and pepper.

    Brown in hot bacon drippings.

    Reduce heat.

    Add water; cover and simmer until tender, about 1 hour.

    If preferred, place browned spareribs in baking pan with water.

    Cover and bake in a moderately slow oven (325°).

    Serves 5.
