  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 3/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup wheat bran flakes cereal
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup raisins

Directions

    Cream butter in a large mixing bowl; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs; mix well.

    Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Stir in flavorings. Add remaining ingredients; mix well.

    Drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto lightly greased cookie sheets. Bake at 400° for 8 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool.
