  • 1 1/4 c. flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. all-bran cereal
  • 1 c. milk
  • generous 1/3 c. molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/3 c. shortening or vegetable oil

Directions

    Add milk and molasses to bran and let stand 2 minutes; add egg and shortening and beat well.

    Sift dry ingredients together and add, stirring only until combined.

    Bake at 400° for about 25 minutes.
