Ingredients

  • 2 c. boiling water
  • 2 c. diced dates
  • 5 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. 40% bran flakes
  • 5 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 qt. buttermilk
  • 4 c. All-Bran Buds

Directions

    Pour boiling water over dates.

    Cool and add soda.

    Cream together sugar, eggs and remaining ingredients.

    Mix well.

    Store in covered container in the refrigerator.

    It will keep up to 6 weeks.

    Do not stir!

    Spoon into greased tins.

    Bake at 400° for 20 minutes.

    This will make 12 dozen muffins.
