- 6 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 pkg. active dry yeast
- 2 c. water
- 1 c. shortening
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. whole bran
Directions

1In a large bowl, combine 3 cups of the flour and the yeast. Heat the water, shortening, sugar and 2 teaspoons salt just until warm, stirring constantly, until shortening almost melts.

2Add to dry mixture eggs.

3Beat at low speed on electric mixer for 1/2 minute.

4Beat 3 minutes at high speed.

5By hand, stir in bran and remaining flour.

6Place in greased bowl.

7Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
