- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. ground Brazil nuts
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Cream shortening; add sugar and cream well.

2Stir in beaten egg and vanilla and beat until fluffy.

3Stir together flour and salt and cut into creamed mixture with knives or pastry blender. Stir in nuts; shape into small balls (2/3-inch in diameter); place on baking sheet and bake in a 350° oven for 20 minutes.

4Cool slightly on baking sheet and roll in sifted powdered sugar.

5Store in loosely covered container.

6Makes about 7 dozen cookies.
