- 12 slices bread, broken in small pieces
- 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. milk
- 3 handfuls brown sugar
- cinnamon
- butter
- 3 c. milk
- 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
- 1/4 tsp. ground ginger
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. dark molasses
- butter the size of small egg (3 Tbsp.)
- 1 egg, beaten well
Directions

1Bring the milk to a boil and slowly stir in the cornmeal.

2Add the ginger and salt and continue to heat for about 15 minutes, until cornmeal has thickened.

3Add the molasses, butter and egg. Mix well and pour into a buttered baking dish.

4Bake in 350° oven for about 40 minutes.

5Serve warm; top with whip cream, if desired.
