  • 8 slices raisin bread
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1/2 stick margarine or butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. sugar (1/2 brown and 1/2 white)

Directions

    In 1 1/2-quart casserole break bread into small pieces.

    Heat milk and butter in saucepan.

    Do not boil.

    Cream eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in bowl.

    Add hot mixture and mix well.

    Pour all ingredients over bread pieces.

    Stir. Sprinkle top with cinnamon and nutmeg.

    Bake in 350° oven for about 50 minutes.
