  • 1 can evaporated milk (1 c. milk)
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. applesauce
  • 1 loaf French bread or white bread
  • 1 Tbsp. nutmeg

Directions

    Combine sugar, vanilla, eggs, applesauce, nutmeg and milk. Break bread into small pieces.

    Put into mix and mix well.

    Melt butter; put into deep 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

    Bake for 1 hour or until golden brown at 350° or 300°.

    Serve with vanilla ice cream.
