  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 14 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 4 cups old bread
  • 12 cup raisins

Directions

    Put the bread cubes and raisins in a large bowl.

    Pour 1/2 cup milk over the bread and raisin; set a side.

    Beat into the eggs, the sugar, the remaining 1-1/2 cup of milk, and nutmeg.

    Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes and stir.

    Pour it into a buttered 1-1/2 quart baking dish.

    Bake at 350F about 25 minutes or until done.
