  • bread Tuscan, or similar crusty bread, stale, sliced thick
  • water
  • tomatoes diced
  • red onion peeled and diced
  • cucumber diced
  • celery diced
  • fresh basil minced
  • extra-virgin olive oil
  • red wine vinegar
  • salt
  • ground black pepper

Directions

    Add the bread slices to a bowl.

    Cover with water and set aside for 20 minutes.

    Add the tomatoes, onion, cucumber, and celery to a salad bowl.
