Broccoli Cheddar Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. loaf frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 10 oz. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed and drained well
  • 1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. dried chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 2 Tbsp. melted butter or margarine

    Let dough thaw until pliable.

    (To thaw dough in microwave, wrap in plastic wrap and microwave on Low power for 6 minutes, rotating occasionally.)

    On lightly floured board, roll dough out to a 12-inch square.

    Combine all remaining ingredients (except butter) in a small bowl.

    Spread filling mixture over dough.

    Roll up lengthwise tightly in jelly roll fashion.

    Pinch dough along edge to seal filling in.

    Slice rolls into 8 pieces.

    Cut each slice in half again, not cutting all the way through.

    Fan out sides to form butterfly-shaped rolls.

    Place on lightly greased cookie sheet and brush with melted butter or margarine.

    Let rise 45 minutes.

    Bake at 375° for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
