Broccoli-Rice Bake

  • 1/2 c. chopped celery
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. butter or regular margarine
  • 1 (10 3/4 oz.) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 (8 oz.) jar pasteurized process cheese spread
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped broccoli, thawed
  • 1 (7 oz.) pkg. precooked rice

Directions

    Saute celery and onion in melted butter in saucepan until tender (do not brown).

    Combine soup, water and cheese spread. Add to saucepan.

    Heat until cheese melts.

    Add broccoli.

    Cook rice according to package directions.

    Combine hot cheese mixture with cooked rice.

    Turn into greased 2-quart casserole.

    Bake in a 350° oven for 45 minutes or until hot.
