  • 1/2 c. onion, chopped
  • 6 Tbsp. fresh bread crumbs
  • dash of salt
  • 1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen broccoli, cooked
  • 1/4 c. bacon fat
  • 6 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 c. chicken broth
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites

Directions

    Saute onion in bacon fat.

    Remove from heat; add bread crumbs, milk, salt, chicken broth and broccoli.

    Mix well.

    Beat 2 egg yolks until creamy and thick; combine with broccoli mixture.

    Beat 4 egg whites until stiff, but not dry; fold in.

    Pour into greased 1 quart casserole dish.

    Set in hot water and bake at 325° for about 1 hour.
