Broccoli Soup

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup oleo
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 6 cups water (or broth)
  • 3 tsp. Chicken bouillon (if water)
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 (10 oz.) frozen chopped broccoli
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup half & half cream
  • 8 oz. Cut up American cheese

Directions

    Saute the onions in margarine 5 minutes, high heat. Reduce the heat to medium and stir in the flour.

    Add the broth (or water), garlic powder and pepper.

    Bring back to a boil.

    Add broccoli (defrosted) and simmer 10 minutes.

    Add the milk, half & half and cheese and cook until the cheese melts.
