Ingredients
- 5 c. chicken stock
- 1 1/2 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen, chopped broccoli, unthawed
- 1 small onion, coarsely chopped
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/4 c. butter
- 5 Tbsp. flour
- 2 c. light cream
- 1 tsp. onion salt to taste
- 1 tsp. salt to taste
Directions

1Combine broccoli, onion and bay leaf with stock in a large pot. Cover and cook at medium heat for 20 minutes.

2Melt butter; blend in flour.

3Stir over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes.

4Do not brown. Gradually blend in vegetable stock mixture.

5Heat; do not boil. Before serving, add 2 to 3 ounces grated Velveeta cheese.

6Do not freeze.
