- 2 c. raisins
- 2 c. water or 1 c. water and 1 c. prune juice
- 2 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. Crisco
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- 4 c. flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1/2 c. nuts
Directions

1Boil raisins, water mixture and baking soda 2 minutes and let cool.

2Mix sugar, Crisco and eggs.

3Add raisin mixture, then add flour, salt, vanilla and nuts.

4Use 6 Number 2 tin cans greased and floured.

5Fill 1/2 full.

6Bake at 300° for 50 minutes, then at 325° for 10 minutes.
