  • 1 c. soft butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. warm water

    Cream butter and sugar.

    Beat in eggs, 1 at a time.

    Sift dry ingredients together.

    Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.

    Stir in vanilla and warm water.

    Bake in lightly greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan at 350° for approximately 45 minutes.
