  • 1 cup flour
  • 34 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 12 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • 12 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 34 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 34 cup brown sugar
  • 14 cup cocoa
  • 1 34 cups boiling water

Directions

    Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

    In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the dry ingredients (flour, sugar, 2 T. cocoa, baking powder, and salt).

    Add the milk, oil, and vanilla and mix until smooth.

    Stir in the walnuts, if desired.

    Transfer the batter to a 9x9 baking pan (or roughly equivalent sized pan).

    Combine the brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa.

    Stir in the boiling water.
