- 4 (1 oz. each) sq. unsweetened chocolate
- 2/3 c. shortening
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/4 c. Gold Medal all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Heat oven to 350°.

2Grease a baking pan, 13 x 9 x 2-inch. Heat chocolate and shortening in a 3-quart saucepan over low heat until melted; remove from heat.

3Stir in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Mix in remaining ingredients.

4Spread in pan.

5Bake until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan, about 30 minutes.

6Cool slightly; spread with Glossy Chocolate Frosting.
