- 12 slices thin white bread
- 1 lb. pork sausage
- 8 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- butter, softened
- 2 c. Swiss cheese
- 3 c. milk
Directions

1Trim crusts from bread and butter lightly on one side.

2Crumble sausage and cook until lightly browned.

3Drain.

4Lay out 6 slices of bread in a 3-quart casserole, buttered side up.

5Sprinkle half of the sausage and half of the cheese over bread.

6Repeat with bread, sausage and cheese.

7Beat together eggs, milk and salt. Pour over sausage and cheese.

8Press down on bread until milk comes through.

9Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.

10Bake at 350° for 1 hour until puffed and brown.

11Serves 6.
