Ingredients
- 10 slices bread
- 1 c. shredded sharp cheese
- 6 eggs, beaten
- 2 c. milk
- 1 tsp. brown sugar
- paprika to taste
- 1 small whole onion, chopped fine
- 1 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
- 1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 c. cooked bacon, ham or cooked loose pork sausage
Directions

1Twenty-four hours before serving, remove crust from bread; cube bread (older bread is better).

2In a mixing bowl, mix all other ingredients.

3In a buttered casserole dish (9 x 13-inch), layer bread, meat and cheese.

4Pour egg mixture over.

5Refrigerate overnight.

6Remove from refrigerator.

7Bring to room temperature. Bake 1 hour at 325°.

8Test for completion.
