Ingredients

  • 8 slices white bread
  • 1/2 c. melted butter (unsalted)
  • 2 c. cubed ham
  • 2 c. fresh broccoli, cooked and chopped
  • 2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. pepper

Directions

    Cube bread and place in melted butter; toss well.

    In buttered 9 x 13-inch casserole, layer half of the bread cubes, half Cheddar cheese, half of the broccoli, all of the cubed ham, then layer remaining broccoli, cheese and bread.

    Beat eggs and milk thoroughly with seasoning.

    Pour over all layers.

    Refrigerate overnight or at least several hours.

    Bake at 350° for 1 hour, until puffy and nicely browned.
