Burger Stuffed Onions

- 6 large onions
- 2 Tbsp. Wesson oil
- 1 lb. lean ground beef
- 2 Tbsp. chopped green peppers
- 2 Tbsp. dry bread crumbs
- 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. chili pepper
- 1/2 Tbsp. salt
- 1/8 Tbsp. black pepper
- 3 slices American cheese
- 1 (8 oz.) tomato sauce
Directions

1Peel onions, cook in boiling salted water 30 minutes or until tender yet firm.

2Drain and cool.

3Slice off top third of each onion.

4Cut out centers to make cups.

5Chop 1/2 cup of the centers and saute in Wesson oil with beef and green peppers for 5 minutes. (Save remaining onions for use in other dishes.)
