- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3 Tbsp. flour
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 c. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 unbaked pie shell
- 1/2 c. sugar
Directions

1Sift 1/2 cup sugar and flour together; add butter and cream together.

2Add beaten egg yolks and set aside.

3Beat 1 cup sweet milk to boiling point; set aside.

4Burn second 1/2 cup sugar in skillet with enough water to moisten sugar.

5Cook until golden brown.

6Add burnt sugar to hot milk.

7Stir until all burnt sugar is dissolved.

8Add small amount of hot milk to creamed mixture, then add all of creamed mixture to milk and burnt sugar mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.

9Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350° until set.

10Beat the egg whites until stiff; add 1/4 cup sugar and beat well until sugar is dissolved.

11Spread over pie and brown in the oven.

12This pie will melt in your mouth.
