Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1/2 c. syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
  • pinch of baking soda
  • flavoring

Directions

    Put sugar, water, syrup and vinegar in pan and stir constantly until comes to a boil.

    Then add cream of tartar.

    Cook until it forms a hard ball in cold water - a brittle test.
  4. 4
    Add butter and pinch of baking soda and flavoring just before taffy is done.
