- 1 3/4 c. granulated sugar
- 1 c. butter (may use margarine, but butter is better)
- 2 c. cake flour, sifted
- 5 eggs
Directions

1Cream butter, beat in sugar until creamy.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating as you go.

3Fold in flour.

4Pour cake mixture into a butter tube pan, a round one that measures 27 inches around.

5Bake in a slow oven, 325°, for one hour.

6Requires no icing but cake develops a wonderful crust during baking.
