- 3/4 c. butter
- 3 T. sugar
- 1 1/2 c. flour
- 3 egg yolks, beaten
- 2 1/4 c. brown sugar
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 3/4 c. shredded coconut
- 3 egg, whites stiffly beaten
- confectioners sugar
Directions

1Cream the butter, add sugar, and beat well.

2Then blend thoroughly with the flour.

3Pat mixture into a greased cake pan and bake in a moderately hot oven, 375° for 15 minutes, or until a delicate brown.

4Now add the brown sugar to the beaten egg yolks and blend in well.

5Add chopped nuts and coconut, then fold in the beaten egg whites.

6Pour over baked mixture and return to the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.

7Cut into 1 in. squares and dust with confectioners sugar.

8Makes 35 squares.
