- 4 c. white sugar
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 c. light corn syrup
- 1 c. water
- 4 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
Directions

1Combine sugar, salt, syrup and water; bring to a boil, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved.

2Boil to 262° on candy thermometer.

3Remove from heat; pour slowly over egg whites, beating with electric mixer.

4Continue beating for 5 minutes. Mixture will be very stiff.

5Add butter, vanilla and nuts.

6Beat by hand until firm.

7Drop by teaspoons onto waxed paper.

8Let stand until firm.

9Store in airtight container.
