Butter Roll

  • 1 1/2 c. flour (self-rising)
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 1/2 sticks margarine
  • 1 c. sugar, divided
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla

Directions

    Mix well the flour and milk.

    Roll out on a floured surface. Cut the stick of butter in thin squares.

    Place all over 1/2 of the rolled out dough.

    Spread 1/2 cup of the sugar over the butter squares.

    Fold one side of the rolled dough over the buttered side. Place in baking dish and bake at 350° until golden brown.

    While this is cooking, mix milk, sugar and vanilla in saucepan; bring to a boil.

    Pour over the browned roll as soon as you bring it out of the oven.

    It will continue to boil some.

    When it cools some, it is ready to enjoy.
