  • 2 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 1/4 c. butter (2 1/2 sticks)
  • 1/2 c. half and half
  • 1/4 c. light corn syrup
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 (6 oz.) milk chocolate bar
  • 1 c. walnuts, chopped

    Use heavy pan.

    Combine sugar, butter, half and half, corn syrup and salt in large heavy saucepan.

    Bring to boil over low heat, stirring until syrup reaches 300°.

    Remove from heat; add vanilla.

    Pour into buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.

    Cool until firm. Spread chocolate on top of candy.

    Sprinkle with nuts and break into bite size pieces when chocolate hardens.
