- 1/3 c. solid vegetable shortening
- 1/3 c. margarine or butter
- 1/4 tsp. vanilla
- 3 c. sifted confectioners sugar
- 1 Tbsp. plus 1 tsp. milk
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and shortening with electric mixer.

2Add vanilla.

3Gradually add sugar, one cup at a time, beating well on medium speed.

4Scrape sides and bottom of bowl often.

5When all sugar is mixed in, icing will appear dry. Add milk and beat at high speed until light and fluffy.

6Keep icing covered with a damp cloth until ready to decorate.

7Keep icing in refrigerator when not in use.
