  • 2 c. flour
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 2 rounded Tbsp. dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 2 1/2 to 3 c. more flour

Directions

    In a large bowl or breadmaker, combine first five ingredients. If using a breadmaker, set bread setting on manual.

    In a saucepan or microwave-proof bowl, heat buttermilk and butter just until warm (110° to 115°).

    Add to flour mixture.

    Beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.

    By hand or breadmaker, mix in remaining to flour to form stiff dough.
