  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. buttery Crisco
  • 2 c. buttermilk

Directions

    Cut Crisco into flour, using a fork.

    Stir in buttermilk. Roll (by hand) the dough into 15 large biscuits.

    Handle dough lightly, adding flour as needed.

    Bake in a hot oven (450°) until golden brown (about 15 minutes).

    Serve hot with butter, honey, preserves or gravy.
