- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1/4 tsp. soda
- 2 Tbsp. shortening
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. butter
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Sift flour; measure, then re-sift with baking powder, soda and salt.

2Add shortening and butter; mix into dry ingredients until coarse consistency.

3Pour in buttermilk.

4Stir together good. Knead with small amount of flour.

5Pinch into small balls and pat to roundness.

6Bake on ungreased baking sheet in preheated oven at about 450° for about 12 to 15 minutes.

7Yields 1 1/2 to 2 dozen small biscuits.
