- 5 c. flour
- 3/4 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/3 c. warm water
- 2 c. buttermilk
Directions

1Preheat oven to 400°.

2Sift dry ingredients and cut in shortening.

3Add buttermilk and yeast (dissolved in water).

4Mix with spoon until all flour is moistened. Cover and set in refrigerator until ready to use, then take out as much as you need.

5Roll out on floured board 1/2 to 3/4-inch thick.

6Cut out and bake 12 minutes.
