- 2 c. flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/3 c. shortening
- 1 1/4 c. buttermilk
- melted butter
Directions

1Sift flour, baking powder, salt and soda together. Cut in shortening. Make a well in center of dry ingredients and pour in buttermilk. With a fork, stir lightly until all particles are moist.

2Pour onto floured pastry board and work in flour until dough isn't sticky. Pat or roll out dough and cut with biscuit cutter.

3Place in a greased pan and bake at 450° for 10 minutes or until golden brown.

4Brush with melted butter.

5It makes a crisp, flaky biscuit.

6Makes about 15 biscuits.
