  • 1 1/2 c. water ground corn meal
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp. shortening

Directions

    Melt shortening in a skillet.

    Combine 1/2 of the shortening with rest of the ingredients.

    Mix well and pour into hot skillet. Bake at 400° until done.
