  • 2 c. cornmeal
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp. melted fat or oil
  • 1 tsp. salt

Directions

    Mix cornbread, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Add buttermilk, eggs and fat or oil.

    Beat well.

    Fill a greased baking pan half full.

    Bake at 475° (hot oven) for about 20 minutes until browned.
