- 1 c. corn meal
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- buttermilk as needed
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
Directions

1Mix dry ingredients, adding whole egg; blend mixture by adding enough buttermilk to make medium batter.

2Pour into hot, greased (bacon drippings preferred) muffin pans.

3Bake at 450° or 500° for about 15 minutes or until brown.

4Makes enough for 8 muffins.
