- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (heaping)
- 14 teaspoon baking soda (rounded)
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 cup buttermilk (may take a little more)
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2 tablespoons oil
Directions

1Preheat over to 425 degrees.

2Put oil in skillet and heat while mixing cornbread.

3Mix dry ingredients and form a well.

4Add egg and beat in the well.

5Add enough buttermilk to achieve near cake batter consistency.

9Pour into hot skillet and bake for 20-25 minutes.
