- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 3 c. sugar
- 6 eggs
- 3 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Cream the butter, shortening and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

3Sift the flour and baking powder together, then add alternately with the buttermilk and vanilla.

4Bake in a tube pan at 325° for 1 1/2 hours.
