  • 1 c. shortening
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. butternut flavoring
  • 2 1/2 c. cake flour
  • 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. milk

Directions

    Cream shortening, sugar and eggs for one minute at half speed. Add 1 cup flour and beat for 1 minute.

    Add 1 cup of milk alternately with rest of flour.

    Add flavoring.

    Bake 1 hour at 325°.

    Increase heat to 350° and continue baking for 10 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.
