- 1/2 c. butter or margarine
- 2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 c. all-purpose flour, sifted
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 c. flaked coconut
- 1 c. peanuts, chopped
Directions

1In a 2-quart saucepan, melt butter.

2Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar.

3Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition; add vanilla.

4Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

5Add flour mixture, coconut and peanuts to ingredients in saucepan.

6Mix thoroughly.

7Spread in a greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch baking pan.

8Bake in 350° oven for 25 minutes.

9Cut bars while warm.

10Dust with powdered sugar.

11Remove from pan when almost cool.

12Makes 3 dozen.
