- 1/2 c. butter
- 2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
- 2 unbeaten eggs
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. chopped pecans (optional)
- powdered sugar
Directions

1Melt butter in saucepan.

2Add brown sugar and blend well with the melted butter.

3Take pan from heat and cool.

4Add unbeaten eggs and vanilla.

5Beat vigorously with a wooden spoon.

6Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.

7Mix flour and sugar mixture together (pecans may be added).

8Spread batter evenly in greased 8 x 12-inch pan.

9Bake about 30 minutes at 350°.

10Cut in strips while warm and roll in powdered sugar.

11Makes 3 dozen bars.
