  • 1/2 Tbsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 c. brown sugar
  • 2 eggs lightly beaten

Directions

    Mix flour, soda, and sugar thoroughly. Add eggs and mix well. Add vanilla and flour mixture and mix well. Shape in round loaf. Wrap in waxed paper and chill over night. Cut in thin slices and bake in 350 oven.
